Yoga for Rock Climbers

Our focus throughout this class will be bringing strength and flexibility to the mind, body & spirit. Class will begin with an invitation to explore working with our minds rather than against them. The physical aspect will have a pinpointed focus on different parts of the body to bring stability and power to one’s practice. Using aroma therapy to lift our spirits and ground us during this class. All of these elements combined will bring a new energy to your rock climbing experience.

Yabo Yoga: Sit Start Yoga

According to Wikipedia, Yabo is climber speak for sit start. You can think of each Yabo Yoga Class as a boulder problem: begin with a sit start, move thru a variety of postures leading up to the crux pose and finish with the free falling leap from the top, Savasana. Similar to climbing, each class will be focused around the breath and being present. Whether this will be your first yoga on sight experience or you are looking to flash a few more vinyasas, there is something for all levels to conquer in each class. No yoga experience (or climbing experience) necessary.

Urban Zen Restorative Yoga

The time to rest and restore is when you don’t have time to rest and restore. Come catch the Urban Zen vibe. This unique class is designed to promote relaxation by releasing the tension we store in our muscles. In a quiet low-light room students are positioned in completely comfortable positions using blankets, bolsters, and other props. The result is a substantial calming of the nervous system. Aromatherapy, Guided Breath Awareness, Simple Meditation Practices and Reiki are all offered to coax maximum release.

*Dressing in layers is highly suggested to keep warm. As the body relaxes, core body temperature goes down. You can come in what you wore to work!

*We will be on the floor lying down the majority of class so please bring a yoga mat or other exercise mat for padding for your back.

*This class is for everyone because it is all about relaxation, restoration and replenishment for the mind, body and spirit.
